Olaplex Haircare Review
Hello guys I’ve been using the Olaplex shampoo and conditioner for a while after good reviews, and I hope I can help some of you to decide whether to invest in these.
Here’s the brand’s story: Our simple three-step process includes a patented active ingredient that works on a molecular level to seek out broken bonds in the hair that are caused by chemical, thermal, and mechanical damage. You can use Olaplex to restore compromised hair, or add it to another service to provide the ultimate breakage insurance.
There are two products for salons, No.1 and No.2.
No.1 Bond Multiplier®
This concentrated first salon step rebuilds broken disulfide bonds and begins the process of preventing damage and repairing hair.
No.2 Bond Perfector®
Our second salon step continues to rebuild and restore any remaining broken bonds ensuring the strongest, shiniest, and healthiest hair possible.
And 4 products for consumer use, No.4 to No.6.
No.3 Hair Perfector ( I don’t own this)
No.3 is not a conditioner, it’s an at-home treatment that reduces breakage and visibly strengthens hair, improving its look and feel.
Now onto the products that i DO own.
First up is the No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo
Brand’s description: Protects and repairs damaged hair, split ends and frizz by re-linking broken bonds. A highly-moisturizing, reparative shampoo that leaves hair easy to manage, shiny and healthier with each use.
- Repairs and maintains bonds within the hair
- Eliminates frizz and flyaways
- Reduces breakage
This shampoo is very creamy, and produced loads of foam. You don’t need a lot to foam up. It’s got a clean scent.
Next is No.5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner
Here’s the brand’s description: Protects and repairs damaged hair, split ends and frizz by re-linking broken bonds. A highly-moisturizing, reparative conditioner for all hair types that leaves hair easy to manage, shiny and healthier with each use. Color-safe. Strengthens & leaves hair stronger than ever.
- Repairs hair and maintains bonds within the hair
- Adds shine
Taking apeek inside, you can tell that the formula is super thick. This has got to be the thickest conditioner I have tried in my life. This feels like squeezing toothpaste. If you look at the photo below, you can tell that I had to squeeze the bottle pretty hard.
It feels great on my hair. You know that feeling when you use a foamy soap and get that luxe feeling? Yea it’s the same feeling with this conditioner. Actually it feels more like a hair mask than a conditioner because it’s so thick. I love it.
As for the benefits, to be honest I can’t really tell if its helped my hair breakage or not because I don’t really see a difference yet. Maybe I have to use it for a bit longer. But I think the luxe-ness makes up for the price haha.
Lastly is No.6 Bond Smoother. I don’t own this product yet but i plan to give it a try soon.
A leave-in reparative styling creme eliminates frizz, hydrates & protects all hair types.
This concentrated leave-in smoothing cream is excellent for all hair types including colored and chemically treated hair. OLAPLEX N°6 strengthens, hydrates, moisturizes and speeds up blow dry times while smoothing. Eliminate frizz and flyaways for up to 72 hours.
1. Apply a very small amount to damp or dry hair, concentrating product on your mid-length to ends.
2. Comb through and style as desired.
